Moving from Airbnb only to your own site

A step-by-step plan for anyone who is only on Airbnb today: what to move across, what to connect and in which order, without missing a booking.

Keep Airbnb

Do not cancel anything. Airbnb keeps bringing guests. The goal is your own site alongside it and one calendar, so you never double-book.

Step 1: copy and photos

Copy your description from Airbnb and make it a bit more personal. Download your photos in the highest resolution. Put them on your new site with a caption per photo; that helps with Google.

Step 2: prices

Take your Airbnb price as the base. Work out what you net on Airbnb and put that price, or a little above, on your own site. The guest pays no guest fee with you, so they are better off and you keep more.

Step 3: connect the calendar

Connect Airbnb through the channel manager. From that moment all Airbnb bookings are in your calendar and your own bookings close the nights on Airbnb.

Step 4: tell your guests

Put the link to your site in your Airbnb profile (not in messages, that is not allowed), in your emails after the stay and in the house itself.

More direct bookings, less admin

No credit card needed. Your site is live within fifteen minutes.
